This didn’t happen at Cornell, but I did learn of a story where Black students were on a campus visit elsewhere: they were connected with other Black current students and shown a disproportionate view of the Black community at Cornell. It feels deceiving and not genuine if it’s not executed honestly and authentically. I appreciated […]

I feel somewhat represented. It’s a very white school because it’s in Lubbock, home of the white conservatives, but the school does have pretty ok diversity for being in the middle of nowhere in a very white town; It’s not segregated. We had many black-focused clubs and organizations that were offered/created by students. I didn’t […]

UT isn’t cliquey. There are no resources specifically for black students. Every resource was available to all students regardless of racial background. UT supports and represents students of color well, and they are supportive of other identities. There is nothing I would change. Black students should try to join all the black organizations and clubs.

I feel represented at OU. It is mostly only segregated among sorority life. There are resources for Black students (Events for D9, GroupMe dedicated to black students with resources/events, office of diversity and inclusion, scholarships for black female students) but I haven’t made use of any of them. I do wish there was better diversity […]

There isn’t enough diversity for there to be major cliques, but similar ethnicities try to stick together when they can. I don’t really know if there are resources available for black students honestly. Besides a safe space like Black Student Unity (BSU), there isn’t really that much for the black students. They have supported black […]

It is cliquey from the outside looking in, it is not like in sports and classes. When you actually attend you can see those in certain clubs for their ethnic clubs hang out with them more than trying to associate with others. Being a PWI, there are more of them than minorities, it’s more about […]

It is separated between different races/ethnicities. The only resource I have is the Black student union and the Avery research center. They could do more by offering more resources and hiring more minorities at the college that truly support and represent minorities. They are somewhat supportive of students of color and other marginalized groups. I […]

We are segregated for the most part, but by choice, not by force. There are resources for Black students, but I have no experience personally. They have many outreach programs, POC-specific safe groups, and many POC employees who are always willing to help, talk, discuss, etc. Any support I could want is already available. College […]

At my school, a lot of the upperclassman minorities feel entitled and like they don’t have to be nice to us freshmen. It’s kind of discouraging because at the end of the day we go to a PWI and we should be uplifting each other, but they continue to separate us at every event they […]

South is somewhat cliquey, but there are people who have mixed friend groups. There are no resources specifically for black students but through the Office of Multicultural student affairs, there are plenty of resources. I feel somewhat represented. I wish there was mentorship with black professors. I would like to say South is supportive of […]
